September 13, 2003Cookin' With GoogleJudy Hourihan came up with the idea of searching Google to figure out what you're going to have for dinner and I turned it into a Google Hack. one of the most popular ones out there. Doesn't require an API key. Just type in the ingredients you've got in the fridge and click "Grab a Recipe," and Google will give you some ideas. Send some feedback if you've got some recipe type ideas. March 15, 2004: New recipe categories have been added: Atkins Diet, Diabetics, Seafood, and Crockpot recipes. Enjoy. June 26, 2004: Welcome TIME Magazine Readers! February 23, 2004: Welcome Wired Readers! If you like Cookin' with Google, boy do I have a bunch of other cool Google tools for you. I'm the lead author of Google Hacks, and even after the book was finished I kept doin' hacks. Try these: GoogleJack -- It's like Blackjack, only you're playing to 101 and you're playing against Google. LuckyMarklets -- Search Google via a bookmarklet and instantly get whisked away to your first search result. I use this constantly. Search Sinker -- Google bases its search results on the number of times you repeat a query word. Experiment with that by specifying a query and a "sinker" word -- the word you want to emphasize most. Wumwum -- Find out who's linking to the pages you specify, but exclude the domains you don't want to see. GooFresh -- Date-based Google searching. Hey, thanks for visiting! Enjoy.
